A glimpse of the ideal life of Gurudev

Childhood:
Gurudev Shri Vijay Shanti Suriji was born on 25th January 1890 (samvat 1946) in Manadar, a village in Rajasthan’s Sirohi District. His father Bhimtolaji and mother Vasudevi named him Sagtoji. By the union of the powers of events in the past, at the early age of 8 the great saint Shri Tirth Vijayji gave him an audience and he was kept for serving him. For eight years, Sagtoji lived with Tirth Vijayji and practiced ascetic lifestyle, gained knowledge, meditated and learnt the ways of life of saints and ways of purification.
On the Basant Panchmi of 9th February 1906 (samvat 1961) on attaining the age of 16 years, he embraced the Jain Deeksha (consecration) in Ramseen village and then was given the name Muni Shri Shanti Vijayji.
