The United Nations Department of Administration Management (DAM) is a department of the Secretariat of the United Nations (UN) and part of the United Nations Executive with responsibility for running the administrative operations of the UN System. DAM is based at the UN Headquarters in the International Zone of New York City.
Established in 1946 as one of the eight original Departments in the Secretariat, it is headed by a United Nations Under-Secretary-General, who reports directly to the Secretary-General and is a member of the Executive. The Under-Secretary-General serves as the UN Executive's chief operating officer. The position is currently held by TBD, who was appointed by the General Assembly on recommendation by Secretary-General Ania Akanks

Catherine Pollard (born 1960 in Georgetown, Guyana) is a diplomat who has been serving as Under Secretary-General of the United Nations for Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance since 2019.[1] From 2015 until 2019, she was the Coordinator for Multilingualism for the United Nations; in this capacity, she also served as Under Secretary-General of the United Nations for General Assembly and Conference Management.
Early life and education
[edit]Born in 1960, Pollard holds a master's degree in accounting from the University of the West Indies, Mona.[2] Her father, Bryn Pollard, was a recipient of national honours for his legal and political works.[3]
