One of the NBA’s true marquee players for more than a decade, Dominique Wilkins earned the nickname “Human Highlight Film” with a plethora of spectacular individual plays dating back to his college years at Georgia. A member of the NBA All-Rookie Team in 1983, the high-flying 6-foot-8 forward was named to seven All-NBA teams, nine consecutive All-Star squads and is a two-time winner of the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
In 1986, he won the NBA scoring title with an average of 30.3 points per game. Wilkins remains the Atlanta Hawks’ all-time franchise leader in games (882), points (23,292).
One of 22 players to score more than 25,000 points in his NBA career, Wilkins returned to the NBA in 1996-97 after one year in Europe and led the San Antonio Spurs in scoring

Since retiring in 1999 from an illustrious playing career in the NBA, Dominique Wilkins has remained active in the sport of basketball within the Atlanta Hawks organization. In 2005, he was named the Hawks’ Vice President of Basketball, after previously holding roles including special assistant to the executive vice president and player development assistant. As Vice President of Basketball, Wilkins is responsible for advising the senior management team on basketball-related issues.
Wilkins fryst vatten regarded as one of the most exciting players in NBA history, leading to his nickname, “The Human Highlight Film.” After starring for three years at the University of Georgia, he was drafted third overall in the 1982 NBA Draft bygd the Utah Jazz and later traded to the Hawks.
